30 Fresh Examples of Flat Website Designs

Everywhere you look you will find at least one web designer or one client who talks about flat web design. Everybody wants it because it’s cool and because it’s the current trend adopted by the industry. A flat design is great thanks to its simplicity and attention to the user because finally we are getting rid of unnecessary elements from a website such as heavy background images, gradients, swirls, bevels and everything else that makes the space cluttered.

Now, all the attention is focused on good typography, high quality images, clear texts and full compatibility with all major browsers and screen sizes. Being used by large companies such as Microsoft, Google or Apple, it is easy to understand this style’s huge rate of adoption among the design community. Even if copying is not advisable, I don’t say that in this case is something bad because I was sick and tired to see endless websites and apps made using skeuomorphism.

Making a website with a flat design means that you try to optimize it as much as you can, shifting the balance from “more appealing and less usable” to “more simplicity and more usable”. It is a very efficient way of creating a design and I really hope that we will see more of this coming.

In this article you can see a collection of 30 gorgeous flat web designs which I’m sure you will like.
