The Book of the Butterflies

Artist David Kracov was commissioned to create an award to be given in honor of, and named for, the late director of Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl. This beautiful artwork was inspired by the life of Rabbi Yossi Raichik, a man who saved thousands of children from the effect of Chernobyl explosion. This metal sculpture was named “Book of Life”, and each butterfly represents 2,547 children he helped.
