Great Neige Ice Cider Packaging

Inspired by the technique used to make ice wine and by Québec’s very particular climate, Neige (meaning snow in English) ice cider was born out of this Canadian province’s terroir, which has the extreme cold winter temperatures needed to produce the concentration of sugars for its creation.

The cidery La Face Cachée de la Pomme wanted Chez Valois to redesign the brand identity and packaging of the product line. The goal was to reafirm the leader and trendsetter position of this premium brand in the ice cider category as well as reinforce its recognition on the international market. To achieve this, a clean and minimalist design was created based around a pattern of snowflakes that can be found throughout the product line.

A lot of subtle elements were also included in the design of the packaging, such as a peel-off label on the back of the bottle that allows to include more information on the history of the cidery and on the fabrication process of ice cider. Custom packing tape was also created to help identify which of the three versions of the product can be found in the shipping boxes.

Pawel Kuczynski is a famous Polish artist who graduated Fine Arts Academy in Poznan with specialization in graphics. His satirical illustrations of modern society and life made him very popular. Pawel was able to describe in his drawings some of the most serious problems of mankind. Starting from world hunger and finishing with modern slavery, everything is describe in a very intelligent way.

Kevin Roodhorst – graphic designer

My name is Kevin Roodhorst. I’m a 20 year old self taught graphic designer from Holland with 6 years of experience. I’m following a graphic design education in Amsterdam, when I’ve finished that I want to work for an advertising agency or putting more time into my one work as a freelancer. I started to work with Adobe software when I was 15 years old. What I did most of the time was follow tutorials on the Internet and check out other designers. I started with making some CD covers and posted them online on some websites, where I received a lot of positive reactions. At the age of 17, I got my first paying assignment, a poster for a kick-boxing competition.

Now I’m 20 years old and I’ve worked for 22 different nightclubs. Flyers, posters and banners etc. I’m featured in four Design Magazines: Advanced Photoshop, Digital Arts, Publish and Computer Arts Magazine. I also took part in creating labels for tobacco and drink companies.

I really like his work, I think he is a promising graphic designer and more than likely we will hear more about him. Below you can see 20 beautiful images created by Kevin.
