In the past week I had the opportunity to take a look the collaborative project management tools made by Comindware: Comindware tracker and Comindware Task Management. While the first one is a paid software, the second one is free so that’s a great news for those who don’t want to invest money in such tools.

For those who don’t know, Comindware is a start-up company lead by a team of entrepreneurs from big companies such as Acronis, Parallels, and Kaspersky Labs.

Comindware Tracker will be available from October 2011 and is designed for a wide range of organizations and it is based on their patent pending Semantic Data Storage technology. They say that it will provide an unmatched flexibility with managing processes, issues, and projects. As opposed to a traditional software with the “careful design first and set in stone” approach, you can start using Comindware Tracker with minimal formalization of processes and customize your application on the run. Using Comindware Tracker, you can automate any area in your organization like HR, Accounting, Support, IT, Marketing with ease. Also, Comindware Tracker includes the functionality of the second product, Comindware Task Management.

Comindware Task Management is free software that you can access on web or download it and start using it for managing your daily tasks right. It has a MS Outlook integration so you can easily take care of your tasks in Outlook Tasks or via e-mail. Another great thing is that it’s made with the MS Ribbon interface, so you can learn how to use it very fast. Even though is a free software, Comindware Task Management has a lot of features such as task based workflow, timesheet calendar, or co-work module from which you can “accept or decline tasks, reassign tasks to other users, see who you are your task co-workers and what stage they are at, discuss, add comments, track feeds, attach files, get notifications via e-mail”.

In conclusion, I have confidence that Comindware’s tools will be appreciated by the community and even though they are new on the market, their software solutions will be very good alternative to the existing ones. I will keep an eye on them because I think this start-up will have a great success.
